David Ellis
Manager News and Public Affairs

Mr. David Ellis joined the Company on November 15, 1980 as a Senior Reporter in the News and Public Affairs department. On October 01, 1985, he was appointed to the post of Programme Director, Voice of Barbados (VOB) with responsibility for programming and current affairs. He was promoted to the post of Director of News and Public Affairs on March 07, 1988. His main responsibilities at that time were to ensure that the news, sports and public affairs programmes were at the highest standard. Mr. Ellis together with Mr. Eric Nurse played a significant role in ensuring that news bulletins were always accurate, up to date and credible. Today, STARCOM Network has a reputation for most credible news stories in the region. The Company has always pride itself on getting news stories first.

On December 01, 1993, he was promoted to the post of Head of Programming, News and Public Affairs. In addition to the management of the News and Sports department, he also had responsibility for the programming content of VOB, Star radio and Yess fm.

At present, Mr. Ellis is Manager of News and Public Affair. His functions are to ensure that the call-in programmes conform to the laws of Barbados and that the high levels of listenership of these programmes are maintained. Apart from news, Mr. Ellis' forte lies in the area of public affairs. Consequently, he hosts and produces call-in and current affairs programmes like "Point at Issue" and "Ellis and Company". This he performs the dual function of administrator as well as on air personality.
