DIRECTV is an international service bringing digital satellite-to-home television to Barbadians, and millions of customers across the world.

In Barbados, the service is provided through the Latin American and Caribbean feed, the Caribbean is represented by DIRECTV Trinidad Ltd. In Barbados, the local service provider is STARCOM Network Inc.

Digital Image and Sound

All DIRECTV programming is in digital quality sound and picture. This means that your viewing experience is like being in a stadium or theater.

Audio Channels

DIRECTV also offers 49 audio channels, all with CD quality sound. The 41 Music channels enable listeners to enjoy their favourite genre without DJ or commercial interruptions. The International Radio channels add variety that enhances the overall DIRECTV experience.

Premium Movie Channels

DIRECTV offers you the widest available choice in movie programming from premium providers: HBO, Cinemax, Movie City and Cinecanal. There are now 16 premium movie channels together with 4 movie channels in the basic package. This means that at any one time DIRECTV subscribers have as many as 20 movie options.

Sports

DIRECTV provides subscribers with a unique approach to sports programming. In addition to regular sports channels dedicated to sports news and events, there are channels dedicated to specific sports. FIFA soccer tournaments, Major League Baseball (MLB) and NFL, are all seasonal sports for which DIRECTV opens a number of channels. This allows you to enjoy your favourite sport and follow your favourite team, even when several games are being played simultaneously.

Pay-Per-View

Recent movie releases, big-ticket sporting items or other special events can all be accessed in the comfort of your home, simply by using your remote control.

Powerful Parental Control

DIRECTV's parental control features are also interactive and are activated very easily using the remote control. There are three (3) types of control:

1. Screening programs by the Ratings Limit
2. Setting up Favourite Channel Lists
3. Editing Channels

Cine Club In Your Home

DIRECTV Cine Club brings to you more than 300 movies annually - from independent productions and international cinema / movie festivals, to the most successful productions in Hollywood. All Cine Club events are Pay-Per-View and can be found in the 400-channel number range. All productions are in DIRECTV's superior digital quality sound and picture.

DIRECTV Caribbean accesses its programming from DIRECTV Latin America LLC. This programming has been specifically packaged for the region. Consequently, viewers will sometimes observe that Subtitling, Commercials / Infomercials, Program Descriptions and Program Titles on the on-screen Program Guide (EPG) appear in Spanish. These features do not in any way effect the language of the program / shows / event. The dominant program audio language is English.
